Application Production Support Engineer

Chase Resourcing are delighted to announce we are recruiting for the position of Application Production Support Engineer for a company in Munster.

Our client has a vacancy for a new team member to join their Application Production Support Group. The candidate will join a team who supports a suite of applications running on Linux and UNIX operating systems. The candidate’s primary function will be to support an in-house developed cash management application that is used globally by our client customers. There will also be a need to support other applications as and when required.

Requirements for the role:

Experience in a similar position OR have recently graduated from college with a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with Java and SQL as core modules.
Provide support for the Cash Management application (as part of a team based in EMEA and US)
Maintain a knowledge base of known issues (and associated solutions).
Consider options for automation in the case of repetitive issues.
Support the Development and QA teams in any way necessary (application restarts, troubleshooting issues in the Development/Test environments, etc).
Support the business with application related queries or issues and carry out relevant investigation steps in order to reach the answer or solution.
On-call and out of hours support on rotation when needed.
A valid passport and ability to travel to the USA

Experience developing web-based enterprise level J2EE applications and understanding various technologies such as Java, J2EE, Struts, Spring.
Experience working with Linux / Unix operating systems.
Knowledge of underlining JPA, Hibernate, GWT and Webservices.
Knowledge of Linux and/or UNIX operating systems.
Knowledge of Messaging frameworks (IBM MQ preferred).
Knowledge of Oracle, SQL.
