Chase Resourcing are delighted to announce that we are currently recruiting Instructional Leaders for a major client of ours based in Saudi Arabia.
Position Description
•The Instructional Leader is a key member of the leadership team of the school and works in partnership with the Principal & Vice Principals to implement the vision and strategies for school improvement.
•The Instructional Leader has the overall responsibility for the teaching & learning program for a group of students and a team of teachers. They are outstanding classroom teachers who lead a team of teachers to prepare innovative & creative lessons to engage children in learning.
•The Instructional Leader will teach children for approximately ٨ hours a week, lead professional learning teams to improve teaching & learning and ensure teachers have a sound understanding of subject content and use evidence to assess student work.
•They will work collaboratively with other Instructional Leaders, Vice Principals Teaching & Learning and Academic Instructional Leaders to implement the improvements in the teaching and learning program. They will coach their team.
•Instructional Leaders are outstanding classroom teachers with the capacity to develop the skills, pedagogical knowledge and performance of teachers and other leaders to improve learning outcomes for students. They will demonstrate and model an outstanding level of teaching and are expected to work in collaboration with others to use the weekly planning process to plan, prepare and teach lessons.
•They are expected to understand the learning needs of their students and design innovative and creative lessons to engage students in learning and support them improve their educational outcomes.
•Instructional Leaders contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school and have a responsibility to monitor learning goals are being used in every classroom, classroom data wall is prepared each quarter and assessment of student work is based on evidence against an agreed rubric.
•We are a digital school and teachers are expected use iPad/ Laptops and Smartboards with students to engage them in learning and extend them to be inquisitive and innovative learners with technology.
•Previous experience in an English as an Additional Language setting would be an advantage.
Core Accountabilities
•Leads & implements a culture of excellence across their team & supports teams of teachers, as a professional learning team, to set high expectations for student learning.
•Leads, as part of a team of instructional leaders, the implementation of whole of school improvement strategies in curriculum planning and delivery including the Riyadh Schools model lesson.
•Leads & manages a professional learning team of teachers and works with them to develop performance &development plans to improve student learning outcomes.
•Works closely with their team of teachers to analyze student achievement data and uses the information to implement a range of intervention & extension strategies to improve learning.
•Ensures their team of teachers uses unit plans & lesson plans to prepare innovative work to engage students in learning.
•Supports the Vice Principal – Teaching & Learning & Academic Instructional Leaders to identify achievements each quarter and identify the major improvement strategy for the next quarter of learning.
•Works with a team of teachers to differentiate the learning and personalize the learning for students to improve their outcomes, using individual learning plans as appropriate.
•Integrates information learning technology strategies (using smartboard and iPad) into the teaching and learning program to engage students in learning.
•Develops, delivers and leads innovative work inside schools e.g. Take Home Book Program, iReady, Reggie Amelia approaches to learning.
•Other duties as directed by the Principal.
Requirements include:
•Bachelor’s degree
•PGCE Qualification/educational degree in area of specialization.
•Qualified Teacher Status
•Experience as Head Of Department min 2 years
