Role of School Evaluators:
Record observations and make educational judgements during the course of an evaluation visit.
Provide to other team members summary translations of key documents submitted by the school during an evaluation.
Assemble observations and judgements into written findings that can be used to assemble an evaluation report.
Give feedback to the school at the end of the evaluation visit.
Conduct thematic reviews and evaluations relating to a specified focus area and/or curriculum expertise.
Prepare pre-evaluation documentation based on review of documentation, share the information with the evaluation team and address any issues arising.
Draft high quality evaluation reports.
Provide feedback on all team members or lead evaluator as required.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the department’s programmes, as required.
Contribute to the professional training of evaluators as directed by the management of the department.
Skills of School Evaluators:
Planning and Organizing: Anticipate and overcome obstacles and develop a contingency plan to address them. Take necessary corrective action when plans go off-track
Problem Solving and Decision Making: Recognize, analyze, and solve problems using a logical approach. Quickly understand the nature of the problem and develop alternative solutions
Flexibility and Adaptability: Respond positively to the demands and expectations of the role, particularly during the evaluation visits. These might require working extra time, tight deadlines and visits to schools in different areas in the UAE, as scheduled.
Functional Domain Expertise: Provide domain knowledge expertise and support as required for the department projects and operations in order to resolve the problem at hand and support departments overall objectives
Communication: Interact with people (Verbal & Written) openly and directly and accurately convey opinion in different circumstances to influence and persuade
Technical Solutions/plan: Design solutions based on specialised knowledge for the defined subject related issues and problems in the department/project in order to meet department goals and objectives.
Conflict Management and Negotiation: Consider conflict as a ‘creative’ process to find solutions and opportunities to grow and appreciate others’ differences. Conduct complex negotiations at the highest level
Requirements needed for School Evaluators:
Masters in Education or related field is preferred
A Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
5 years relevant experience
An understanding and experience of school improvement
An understanding of school evaluation approaches
Fluent in written and spoken English
