Senior Transport Modeller

Chase Resourcing are delighted to announce we are looking for a Senior Transport Modeller for our client based in the Middle East.

The position is for an expert transport modeller (with strong and proven experience in public transport modelling)

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Transport Modeller position is for an expert in all components of active modes of transport handled by the department.

• Calibration and Validation of  both the supply and demand models using appropriate techniques.
• Capable of producing travel demand forecasts for all transport modes and forecast the impact of transport improvements.
• Provide modelling input to multi-criteria analyses for infrastructure projects.
• Ability to make policy changes and environmental changes on traffic patterns and volumes.
• Design and supervise appropriate traffic and transportation data collection as per the requirement
• Design and testing of Stated Preference (SP) survey is highly desirable.
• Coordinating project details with superiors and may act as project manager and manage projects lead by the department and provide technical support to other departments, area offices, and project sites as required.

Requirements

• Degree in transport related discipline (MSc. or Ph.D. is an advantage)
• 5 years minimum experience in transport modelling with strong public transport modelling experience).
• Expierence of software such as VISUM, EMME, CUBE and TransCad is essential.
• Familiarity with micro-simulation modelling tools such as VISSIM, AIMSUN and Paramics
• Knowledge of specialist junction assessment software such as SYNCHRO, SIDRA and HCS would be an advantage.

The principal work location is likely to be in one of our clients  European offices but some travel is expected to project sites, to national maritime headquarters or other clients’ offices and to other main design offices in Beirut, Cairo and Amman.
