Job Purpose
The Nurse Manager/Triage will play a key role in the management and development of the service in attaining the highest possible standard of excellence throughout the service. The post holder is responsible to ensure that the optimum standard of service is delivered on a daily basis within the service, maintaining the quality of patient care, developing existing services as necessary and meeting strict deadlines and KPIs as set out by the General Manager. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of both managerial and clinical leadership in the delivery of the high quality and cost-effective service which includes responsibility for the ongoing management of staff and their performance within the service. The Nurse Manager/Triage will contribute positively to the delivery of the service, its future direction, and the growth of the service.

The post holder will lead and develop the service triage team in quality assurance and compliance in meeting the highest standard of service. They will contribute strategically and operationally to the effective running of the service. The post holder must also ensure adherence to all the service programmes, policies, and procedures.
Job Scope
The Nurse Manager/Triage will ensure that an ongoing programme for the service improvement initiatives within the triage function is developed implemented and managed. The post holder will have an influence on the management and investment of a significant resource budget. All expenditures will be monitored for the effective utilisation of internal or external resources.
Jobholder Reporting
The Nurse Manager/Triage will report to the General Manager. The Nurse Manager/Triage will have overall responsibility for the smooth operation of the triage function for the service. The Nurse Manager/Triage will meet the General Manager on a weekly basis and will be in regular communication through standards development, informal progress meetings, written reports, general discussions etc.
